The historical centre with his marketplace is dressed up admirably with bay windows, gables, clam ornaments, professional rosettes, scrolls, cornices and a lot of timber framing. Its marvellous scenery in the weser renaissance style which can be enjoyed perfectly thanks to a new pedestrian precinct. Undisturbed walks and shopping joys with old town atmosphere are waiting for you. And in the warm season there splashes a "Bächle", a little brook like the ones you know from the south of Germany.

Just nip down there, be it on a guided city tour or on your own account. Cyclists, travellers and water sportsmen are glad about the green surroundings of the historical treasure in the Weserbergland.

Ride a bike on rails - this special pleasure offers Rinteln to its guests with handcar tours on the historical Extertalbahn. On 18 kilometres you can enjoy the attractive scenery of the Extertal, passing meadows and fields, comfortable farms and small hamlets.
You can find a lot of stopping places which invite you to a break.
