You can enjoy the 1.000-year-old history on hiking tours. Tracks like the castle ruins, remains of the old city wall, the castle Erichsburg or the St. Laurentius church with its exposed, rare frescoes can be found everywhere.

The restored Blacksmiths as well as the stallion rearing Hunnesrück or the room of Wilhelm Bush in Lüthorst are attractive sights.

Dassel also offers a variety of sport and leisure activities like two heated outdoor swimming pools in Dassel and Markoldendorf, a bath lake in Lauenberg or several tennis courts.
